Questions I Ask Before I Press the Shutter.

Questions I Ask Before I Press the Shutter. Yesterday at my son’s swim meet, I took a long exposure of the pool. Swimmers blurred into streaks of light and color, and for a moment, everything slowed down. Before I press the shutter, I always ask myself: “What am I really trying to see?” It’s never just the obvious. Often, I am drawn in by elements of design, color, light, line, texture, repeating shapes, and perspective, especially with these long exposures. Or, “How can I see this differently?” What question guides your creative decisions?
