MAKING NEW WORK!

July 06, 2016 by Michele Crockett

I made the goal to make new work this year and that is what I did! THANK YOU to everyone who came out to Toronto Outdoor Art over the week.

In 2009, right before Polaroid went out of business I bought 30 pack of film and have been waiting for the perfect project to make with them.  In the last three years I have been visiting beaches both here in Canada and in the states experimenting with the effects of photographing with expired film. The results of the new work are unpredictable. I don't have control over the color or contrast. This lack of control at first was uncomfortable, but then became a fun experiment, "What will the the image look like?". I then began to place over lays of circles and triangles over the images by pulling out colors in the image.  These images have been mounted on a metal surface with a shinny surface.

Thank you @globel.gypsy for these amazing pictures!
